We love Carly and Mark’s fairytale wedding at Little Channels in Chelmsford (Essex). Located on the Cliffords Estate on the outskirts of the village of Little Waltham, Little Channels was the perfect venue for Carly and Mark to share their intimate ceremony with 60 friends and family, including their gorgeous little boy……

How they met
Carly and Mark have known each other since they were 17, but didn’t get together until they bumped into each other seven years later in an Essex nightclub. Well it was worth the wait, as they ended up getting engaged four months later and two weeks after that, Carly found out she was expecting their first child….

The proposal
Much to Carly’s surprise, Mark has asked her father’s permission to marry her a little while before the proposal. Mark was very clever in the way he proposed – he told Carly that someone had hit their brand new car, and when she went out to look at the damage – guess what? Mark had attached a little black box to the bonnet! He then removed the box from the bonnet, got down on one knee and the rest if history…

The venue
The couple chose to have their wedding at Little Channels after viewing around six different venues.
When they walked into Little Channels, they knew straight away that they had found the right place. Mark and Carly loved the wooden beams which give the venue a barn-like feel. The exclusive outside courtyard and the intimacy Little Channels offers is exactly what the couple wanted for their day.
Carly and Mark had 60 guests to the ceremony and dinner and an extra 60 guest in the evening.

How the day went….
Carly was delighted with how her big day went: ‘Our day was everything we could have hoped for and more. The weather was fantastic, everything went to plan with no hiccups. I was very relaxed and eager to see my future husband and little boy looking so handsome and celebrating our day with close family and friends.’

The outfits
Carly’s dress was from Karen Forte Bridal and occasion wear in Cambridgeshire which was recently featured on TV series ‘Don’t tell the bride’. The shop is very close to where her mother-in-law lives and every time she used to drive down there, she always admired the ‘amazing wedding dresses in the window.’ Little did she know that a few years later, what turned into a ‘just looking visit’ turned out to be the day she found her dream wedding dress. Carly emphasised that the staff were great and didn’t pressure her in buying the dress.
Marks’s outfit along with the outfits for the best man, ushers, pageboys and father-of-the bride were from Moss Bros. The suits were from the Wedgewood range.

Personal touches
The couple used their favourite films as their table names and also had a sweetie table to treat their guests and cupcakes instead of a traditional wedding cake.

Best decision
Carly was delighted with the venue: ‘Little Channelswas very intimate and exactly what Mark and I wanted.’
Useful tips
Little Channels has a sister venue called ‘Channels’ which is slightly bigger, so could be good for larger weddings.
