San Donato is a farmhouse set in a tiny medieval village amidst the green hills of San Gimignano in Tuscany, offering charming panoramic views of the unique town and countryside.
The Fenzi family, who have owned the farm since 1932 always provide a warm welcome and are happy to assist with your special day. Federica used to be a wedding coordinator herself and can provide recommendations for local suppliers.
San Donato is a working farm which produces wine, oil and cereals and the friendly owners are renowned for offering guests local produce and organising delicious dinners with typical Tuscan food.
We think this is an outstanding venue offering a magical Tuscan experience, which will be remembered for many years to come.
Location: 11 minutes from Tuscany’s San Gimignano and approximately 30 minutes from Volterra (Italy)
Accommodation capacity: Space for 32 guests spread across several self contained apartments, plus some extra bed can be added. Next year (2014) they will be adding two more apartments accommodating two people in each
Price per room: From €90 for a double room
Price per wedding meal: €80 per person if in-house catering is used. There is an option of using outside caterers
Venue fee: None if in-house caterers are used for the wedding reception. If off-site caterers are used, there is a fee of €500
Post-reception entertainment: Music can be played until 12.30pm
Restaurant on site (for meals before or after the wedding)? Yes – meals need to be pre-booked a day or two in advance. A traditional light lunch costs €22 while a traditional dinner costs €32

Anything else? San Donato is well known for its wines and cooking lessons too, all of which can be sampled by the guests during their stay. Also as expected, hosting a wedding reception there is only possible if you are staying on-site
